The United States has enough money to finance the war against Iran without raising taxes, said Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on NBC News.

US Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent, argued that Washington can finance the war against Iran without any problems. There will be no need to raise taxes to do this.

Bessent stated that “we have enough money to finance this war“. He added that the additional budget request demanded by the Pentagon – estimated at 200 billion dollars – would be allocated for future military capabilities, writes Mediafax.

“President Trump has consolidated the military, as he did in his first term, as he is doing now in his second term, and he wants to ensure that the military will be well supplied in the future”, said Bessent, without confirming the figure of 200 billion dollars.

This additional funding request faces strong opposition in Congress, with Democrats and even some Republicans questioning its necessity after last year’s large defense allocations.
