The US Administration has issued an ultimatum to Politico: the editorial team has been given 48 hours to delete or refute a series of articles about the White House Chief of Staff, Suzy Wiles, otherwise the media will face “undetermined consequences”.
This is reported by the publication Axios. On Monday, the legal department of the White House sent a letter with a 48-hour ultimatum to the Politico editorial office. Donald Trump’s administration demands the deletion or correction of articles referring to tensions within the White House.
In the letter addressed to Politico, White House advisor Will Scharf highlighted three articles referring to the head of the White House administration, Suzy Wiles. It’s about the article from October 15th titled “Trump’s ‘Ice Girl’ in the line of fire”, in which Politico reported that Trump is considering the possibility of replacing Wiles. The President of the United States himself has labeled this as “fake news”.
The next day, the publication wrote that the article had caused “panic” and that the president had “exploded” because of this. The White House spokesperson described this as “incredibly foolish and false”.
In the third article from October 16th, titled “Suzy Wiles helped organize an interview at Fox on the eve of the spokesperson’s resignation,” Politico suggested that the chief of staff had set a trap for the former spokesperson Katie Zacharia, so that she would fail in her interview with Sean Hannity from Fox. It’s worth mentioning that Zacharia left her position after just five days on the job.
