The Ukrainian army claims to have successfully struck three Russian ships in a single drone attack. The ships were located in a Black Sea port. Additionally, the Ukrainians destroyed an oil depot.

The Ukrainian army announces that it has hit three ships in the Russian port of Novorossiisk in southwestern Russia. According to Live Ukraine, it is about the frigate Admiral Essen, the landing ship Pyotr Morgunov and the minesweeper Zheleznyakov, writes Mediafax.

The three Russian ships were hit simultaneously, the Ukrainians claim. Also, the Ukrainians have confirmed the attack on the oil storage facilities in Novorossiisk.

The Ukrainians have struck and the port of Mahacikala

The Ukrainian Major State commented also on the importance of the attack on the Russian port of Makhachkala. This is the only deep, ice-free port on the Caspian Sea and an important transport hub.

The port serves as a Russia-Iran corridor, being used by Moscow to circumvent Western sanctions. For example, Shahed components and drones are transported from Iran to Russia, while explosives, drone parts and ammunition are transported in the opposite direction. Also, nearby is a base of the Russian Caspian Fleet.

The attack comes after another series of Ukrainian strikes on Russian infrastructure. Kiev announced on Wednesday that it hit two gas facilities in West Siberia, after its drones traveled a distance of over 3,000 km.
