The President of the USA, Donald Trump, declared on Wednesday, April 8, that Lebanon is not part of the two-week ceasefire agreement.
Vorbind la telefon cu PBS NewsHour, acesta a spus că conflictul dintre Israel și Liban este „o confruntare separată”, adăugând: „Da, Libanul nu a fost inclus în acord”, scrie The Guardian.
“Because of Hezbollah. They were not included in the agreement. This will be resolved too. It’s okay,” said the US president.
The American president Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that he has reached a ceasefire agreement with Iran for a period of two weeks, shortly before the ultimatum expired.
The American leader specified that the ceasefire was conditioned by Tehran’s acceptance to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
“A total and complete victory. 100 percent. There is no doubt about that,” stated the leader from the White House, shortly after the announcement of the armistice.
Subsequently, the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, insists that the armistice must also be extended to Lebanon, where the conflict continues to escalate.
“We expect that, in the coming days and weeks, the armistice will be fully respected throughout the region and will allow for negotiations which, as France has been advocating since 2018, will lead to a lasting resolution of the nuclear, ballistic, and regional issues related to Iran.”
