The Trump Administration would like to use the Mihail Kogălniceanu base near Constanța for potential interventions in the Middle East. According to g4media.ro, the discussions are currently informal and in the early stages.
An official request for this has not yet been submitted to the Romanian authorities. If such a request is made, it will first have to be validated by the Romanian Ministry of Defense.
