Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that Ukraine now has enough weapons to defend itself against Russian attacks, marking what he described as a historic moment for the country. In a speech on Ukraine’s Arms Industry Day, Zelensky emphasized that the war-torn country is in the strongest position in its modern history, reports Ukrainska Pravda.
“For the first time in Ukraine’s history, the courage of our fighters and the resilience of our people are sufficiently armed to withstand Russian attacks,” he declared.
The Ukrainian leader asserts that Ukraine is stronger than in 2014, stronger than in the 20th century, and better prepared than ever to defend its sovereignty.
Zelenski also emphasized that Ukraine not only withstood a large-scale invasion, but also developed the ability to wage war on Russian territory.
The rapid evolution of military technology
Zelensky highlighted the fact that drones have fundamentally changed the dynamics of war, offering Ukraine strategic advantages on the battlefield.
In addition to drones, Ukraine is developing ground robotic systems, electronic warfare capabilities, and its own anti-aircraft defense solutions designed to counter ballistic threats. These advancements reflect a broader transition towards a technology-based warfare.
Zelenski also mentioned the significant progress in the production of missiles, armored vehicles, artillery and defense software, emphasizing that the systems made in Ukraine are attracting increasing interest all over the world, in Europe, the Middle East, but also Asia and Africa.
