Two signal rockets were launched from a Russian frigate, towards a Danish military helicopter. The ship was in international waters off the coast of Denmark, a NATO member country.

The helicopter had the mission to photograph the ship, the Danish Defense Command communicated. The missiles passed very close, alongside the aircraft, according to the Danish military, writes Antena3.

This is about pyrotechnic devices that are typically used for maritime warning.

“Reckless actions by Russia against the Danish armed forces during a routine flight. Russia’s actions aim to intimidate and divide. They will not succeed”, conveyed Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Copenhagen has summoned the Russian ambassador, following the incident.
