The increase in tariffs for housing and communal services in Russia, which citizens faced at the beginning of 2026, became the largest in the last 16 years. The data was published by the Federal Statistical Service of Russia (Rosstat) in the Unified Interdepartmental Statistical Information System (EMISS).
According to official statistics, in January the average tariffs for communal services at the national level increased by 15.02% compared to the same period of the previous year. This is the largest increase recorded since September 2010, when the increase reached 15.6%.
The regions where the bills have increased the most are the Republic of Mordovia (+23.65%), Kemerovo Region (+22.9%) and Perm Territory (+20.23%).
The statistics show that in no subject of the Russian Federation did the tariffs for utilities increase by less than 10%.
