The video footage released by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense earlier this month shows the new combat drone vehicle ‘Ironclad’ in action against Russian forces.
The video, which was shared on X, formerly Twitter, bears the markings of the 5th Separate Assault Brigade of Ukraine and appears to show the remotely controlled drone firing the M2 machine gun at a Russian outpost.
Mikhailo Fedorov, Ukrainian Minister of Digital Transformation, stated in a Facebook post in September that the drone has been used to “attack enemy positions, conduct reconnaissance, and provide fire support to the army.”
Future is now in Ukraine.

“This is a revolutionary product from Ukrainian engineers at Roboneers, which changes the way war is conducted and helps save the most valuable thing – the lives of our soldiers,” said Fedorov.
He mentioned that ‘Ironclad’ can reach speeds of over 19 kilometers per hour and is equipped with a Shablya M2 machine gun turret, adding that it also has “an armored body that protects it from small caliber weapons.”
According to the producer, the system can rotate 360 degrees and can detect human-sized targets up to 1,800 meters away. It also has a thermal vision camera.
