The President of the European Commission named, on Wednesday, five priorities that should be included in the peace plan for Ukraine, writes Ukrainskaia Pravda, noting that Ursula von der Leyen addressed the plenary session of the European Parliament.
The five priorities listed by the head of the Brussels executive are:
- a fair and sustainable peace
- guaranteeing Ukraine’s sovereignty
- financial support for this country
- active participation of Kiev, the European Union, and NATO in peace negotiations
- the return of Ukrainian children kidnapped by Russia.
“I would like to underline some of the essential principles for Europe, as we collaborate with Ukraine, the United States, and the coalition of volunteers to establish the path to follow. The first priority is that any agreement ensures a fair and sustainable peace and guarantees real security for Ukraine and Europe”, von der Leyen emphasized.
