Lavrov stated that Russia insists that US actions against Cuba, including the blockade of the island&#8217;s oil supply, are &#8220;unacceptable&#8221;, threatening to cause &#8220;a serious deterioration of the economic and humanitarian situation in the country&#8221;.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span dir=\"auto\"><em>&#8220;A firm commitment was expressed to continue to provide Cuba with the necessary political and material support,&#8221;<\/em> Putin&#8217;s diplomacy conveyed in a statement. <\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span dir=\"auto\">In 2014, dictator Vladimir Putin <\/span><span dir=\"auto\">wiped out<\/span><span dir=\"auto\"> Cuba&#8217;s debt of over 32 billion dollars. Russia&#8217;s total budget expenditures that year were about 414.5 billion dollars.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In total, Cuba&#8217;s debt, accumulated during the Soviet period, amounted to about 35.2 billion dollars at that time.
