The data was presented in the Eurobarometer.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to statistics, in 2025, 36% of Europeans say they have been exposed &#8220;often&#8221; or &#8220;very often&#8221; to disinformation. In 2022 the rate was 28%.<\/p>\n<p>The report indicates that Eastern and Southern European countries are generally more affected. In Hungary (57%), Romania (55%), and Spain (52%), over half of the respondents claim they frequently encounter false news, reports <a href=\"https:\/\/nordnews.md\/stiri-externe\/romania\/romania-locul-2-ue-expunere-fake-news\/\">NordNews<\/a>. The rate exceeds 40% also in Bulgaria (48%), Luxembourg (45%), Malta (45%), Greece (43%), Cyprus (42%), and Ireland (42%).<\/p>\n<p>At the opposite end are the Northern and Western countries, where reported exposure is lower. Finland and Germany each have 26%, while the Czech Republic (29%), Sweden (30%), Lithuania (30%), and France (30%) are at similar levels.<\/p>\n<p>The data also reveals that only 62% of Europeans believe they can recognize disinformation when they encounter it.
