The former foreign minister of Ukraine, Dmitro Kuleba, stated that in September 2021, Victoria Nuland, then the deputy secretary of state of the United States, conveyed to him and Andrii Yermak that a Russian invasion was inevitable.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The Ukrainian diplomat<\/a> stated that a representative of the White House directly told them they needed to “dig trenches”<\/em> because Putin would attack, but nobody in the world believed this, except for the United States, writes focus.<\/a><\/p>\n\n

“Victoria Nuland came and said: ‘Well, boys, dig trenches’. Shock. We went out. We spoke calmly and decided: if such a thing happens, it cannot be hidden. So, someone else needs to know about this. We need to talk to the Europeans. Do they see the same thing too?”,<\/em> Kuleba recounted in an interview given to journalist Dmitri Gordon.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n

The former minister<\/a> added that, at that time, the USA did not provide Ukraine with specific data about the attack, and Kiev decided to gather information and verify it with European partners.<\/p>\n\n

“We turned to the Europeans. The Europeans said: “What are you doing, what war, nothing will happen, these are just American intrigues. Calm down, guys, the main thing is – do not provoke Russia”<\/em>, Kuleba declared.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n

Regarding the position of other states, the diplomat was alerted that only the United Kingdom and Canada have supported the American assessment according to which there will be a war at the end of 2021.<\/p>\n\n
