Russian authorities could significantly reduce the traditional lavish Victory Day parade ceremony in Moscow, writes journalist Aleksandra Prokopenko, author of the book “Accomplices”, citing sources.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

According to this, this year’s parade could take place without military technology: only columns of soldiers are expected to march on Red Square. The number of guests could be reduced from thousands to a few hundred, and the entire ceremony could last less than an hour. The propaganda is expected to claim that this was the initial planning and that the reduction is not related to the threats generated by drones.<\/p>\n\n

Previously, pro-war bloggers suggested that the parade might even be completely cancelled. Ilia Tumanov reported in early April about the cancellation of the aerial part of the parade rehearsal. According to him, the rehearsal scheduled for April 5 did not take place, and the military were ordered to return to their units “until further instructions”.<\/p>\n\n

This year, the first rehearsal of the parade, which normally took place at least two weeks before May 9, was not announced, notes the publication Agenstvo.<\/p>\n\n
