Estonia has introduced a new course in the high school curriculum, about tactical defense with drones, intended to provide tenth grade students with basic skills in the field of unmanned systems.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The 35-hour pilot program, developed by the Defense Resources Agency in collaboration with the Estonian Aviation Academy, includes 25 hours of classroom instruction and 10 hours of practical training, culminating in obtaining a certification for a low-risk category drone operator, writes The Defense Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

During the course, students begin familiarizing themselves with drone piloting through simulators, before moving on to real flight exercises, which will allow them to interact with drone technology in a safe and methodical manner.<\/p>\n\n

The program, launched last fall, is taught in ten high schools and the authorities anticipate that they will expand it as more students enroll.<\/p>\n\n
