Discussions about a lasting agreement in the Middle East mark a clear progress, even though the belligerent states have not yet reached an agreement. Donald Trump himself announced over the weekend that a memorandum of understanding had been largely negotiated, according to Reuters. As part of this preliminary agreement, the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened.<\/p>\n\n

“An agreement has been largely negotiated, subject to finalization, between the United States of America, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and various other countries,”<\/em> is the message posted by Trump on Truth Social.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n

Previously, on Saturday, May 23, the United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, stated at a press conference held in New Delhi, India, that significant progress has been made regarding a possible agreement between Washington and Tehran. However, there is a nuance in Marco Rubio’s statements, who also maintains that, although the progress is evident, we cannot yet speak of a “final progress”.<\/p>\n\n

The high-ranking American official also emphasized that the United States has achieved its objectives in Iran through “Epiuc Fury” and explained that the purpose of the attacks was to destroy Iran’s ability to launch ballistic missiles.<\/p>\n\n

Promising signs for the peace process in the Middle East<\/h2>\n\n

The fact that things seem to be moving in a good direction is also indicated by the increasing mobilization of states in the region, which are trying to support the American-Iranian negotiation efforts.
