The largest refinery in Russia, located in Omsk and owned by Gazprom Neft, has stopped processing oil following the drone attack on July 6th, reports Reuters, citing two industry sources.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Following the attack, one of the main oil processing facilities was damaged and caught fire. This accounted for 38% of the refinery’s capacity, equivalent to about 24,500 tons of oil per day.<\/p>\n\n

Another installation, which provides another 37% of the oil processing capacity, was urgently shut down. According to Reuters sources, it was not directly hit, but the communications between the sections ensuring its operation were damaged.<\/p>\n\n

The Omsk refinery has an annual processing capacity of 22 million tons of oil. Agency sources estimate that the second facility could be restarted soon.<\/p>\n\n
