Some politicians suggest that Russia could be responsible for the incident.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Wednesday, in the early hours of the morning, air traffic was disrupted for two hours at Leipzig-Halle Airport after a drone carrying an explosive device was discovered and subsequently defused, reports <a href=\"https:\/\/agerpres.ro\/politic-extern\/2026\/08\/07\/germania-merz-a-reunit-consiliul-national-de-securitate-in-cazul-descoperirii-unei-drone-explozive-p--1583109\">Agerpres<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the German newspaper Bild, a driver working at the airport noticed a drone hovering at a low altitude around the Ukrainian cargo planes, caught it and held it on the ground until the arrival of experts.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The drone contained Semtex &#8211; an explosive used in industrial and military applications. Prosecutors in Germany initiated investigations on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another drone crashed into a DHL cargo plane on the same day.
