Consultations, prescriptions, medical records: the information of nearly 19 million Poles has been compromised in a cyber attack on a medical software provider, announced the authorities in Warsaw on Wednesday, reports Agerpres.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The Minister of Digital Affairs, Krzysztof Gawkowski, described the incident as “one of the largest” cyber attacks in the history of this country with 37 million inhabitants.<\/p>\n\n

\n

“Nothing at present indicates that we are dealing with an external attack, originating from Russia or any other state,”<\/em> he declared.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n

According to the minister, the initial data from the investigation suggests that the attackers were financially motivated. He ruled out the possibility of paying a ransom and promised that those responsible will be pursued “relentlessly”.<\/p>\n\n
