Since then, there would have been no further contact between the military leadership of the two countries.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the same sources, Radakin&#8217;s subsequent requests to discuss over the phone were reportedly rejected by the Russian side through a &#8220;polite response&#8221;, stating that the general is &#8220;too busy&#8221; to answer the call.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After, in September last year, the chief marshal of aviation Sir Richard Knighton replaced Radakin in office, he too tried to get in touch with Gherasimov \u2014 considered one of the architects of the long and costly war in Ukraine.
