The only signal came from the American president, Donald Trump, who posted a message on social networks, without providing details about the new terms or the exact duration of the extension.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>&#8220;The main objective is &#8211; and will always remain &#8211; that Iran should not be able to possess, in any way or form, a nuclear weapon,&#8221;<\/em> states the message of the American leader.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The memorandum of understanding was <a href=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/sua-si-iran-au-semnat-un-memorandum-pentru-redeschiderea-stramtorii-ormuz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">signed<\/a> on June 16, and the two parties agreed to hold peace talks for two months, to end the war and establish long-term peace in the region. Among the key topics were Tehran&#8217;s nuclear program and navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, closed by Iran to Western and Israeli ships and conditioned for others.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The strait is vital for global trade, as it transits approximately one fifth of the oil consumed globally, reports <a href=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/al-arabiya-sua-si-iran-au-convenit-prelungirea-cu-inca-60-de-zile-a-memorandumului-de-intelegere\/\">IPN<\/a>.
