Swedbank defines war as an armed conflict between two or more sovereign states.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, the extended home insurance does not cover or compensate for damages resulting from wars between two or more of the five world powers: the United States, China, France, the United Kingdom, and Russia, writes <a href=\"https:\/\/ru.themoscowtimes.com\/2026\/09\/04\/vstranah-baltii-nachali-prodavat-strahovku-otvoini-a205326\">The Moscow Times<\/a>. The use of chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons, as well as cyber and electronic attacks, are also excluded.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new terms come into effect on August 6. Swedbank initially offers an additional six-month coverage to all customers in the Baltic states.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the beginning of August, The Wall Street Journal, citing American intelligence services, reported that Russia might launch a &#8220;limited attack&#8221; on a NATO country in the coming years to test NATO. Among the possible scenarios was a <em>&#8220;small land incursion&#8221; into Lithuania, Latvia, or Estonia.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the end of August, these concerns were amplified by the surprise visit to Moscow by the CIA director, John Ratcliffe.
