Carlson made this statement on Thursday, during an interview given to NPR&#8217;s &#8220;Newsmakers&#8221; podcast.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although Carlson has long been a public supporter of Trump, he has been particularly critical of the president&#8217;s war against Iran, writes The Independent.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;<em>He will not be punished for this. They will catch him for corruption or something else,&#8221;<\/em> Carlson declared for NPR when asked if Trump should be the subject of an impeachment procedure because of the war.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He asserted that Trump should have been removed from office &#8220;by his own cabinet secretaries at the moment he threatened with a nuclear attack&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Steve Inskeep from NPR asked Carlson if he was referring to the application of the 25th amendment.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>&#8220;Exactly. He should have been tied up and removed from office. This is a crime. There is no crime more serious than this&#8221;<\/em>, Carlson said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The former Fox News presenter, however, left room for a conspiracy theory &#8211; namely, that perhaps Trump was not the one who ultimately made the decision to join Israel in its attack on Iran.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;<em>I don&#8217;t believe he had the freedom to make this decision on his own<\/em>,&#8221; said Carlson.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are no credible evidences to suggest that anyone other than Trump would have led the United States in the current deadlock with Tehran.
