The Court of Appeal\u2019s ruling is final.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The pretrial detention warrant for C\u0103lin Georgescu was due to expire at midnight tonight.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The hearing at the Bucharest Court of Appeal began at 5 p.m., when C\u0103lin Georgescu was also brought before the court.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dozens of supporters of the former presidential candidate had already gathered on the steps of the Bucharest Court of Appeal, chanting for his release.
