Russia’s largest bank, Sberbank, announced on Monday that the new series of US dollar bills are available at its branches in 27 cities of the Russian Federation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 2022, the United States banned the delivery of dollar bills to Russia, and the European Union imposed similar measures regarding the euro. These restrictions have led to a shortage of the latest generation banknotes in Russian banks, as the demand for cash currency traditionally increases in the summer season, when many Russians travel.<\/p>\n

Due to the reduced flow of new banknotes, the old ones have quickly deteriorated. Starting from last year, numerous banks in Russia have introduced fees for accepting old dollar bills, and the cases of refusal of these have significantly increased – although they have not been withdrawn from circulation.<\/p>\n

“Now, the NexGen series US dollars can be obtained in 27 cities of Russia – from Vladivostok to Rostov-on-Don. The availability of the currency and placing an order can be done online,”<\/em> Reuters quotes a statement from Sberbank.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

For advance orders, Sberbank offers US dollars in amounts from 1,000 to 10,000 USD and euros between 500 and 10,000 EUR.<\/p>\n
