The Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenski announced on Thursday that he will send evidence to officials in the United States proving that Russia has violated the agreement on the cessation of bombing of energy targets.
Last week, the Ukrainian and Russian presidents announced that they accept such a pause in strikes on critical infrastructure on the other side, after separate phone discussions with US President Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, international press reported that the Russians continued to strike civilian targets in Ukraine, while Ukraine bombed a Russian air base.
On Thursday, Zelenski said that the ceasefire in the energy sector was violated by Russia after last night’s attack on the city of Herson.
“The Americans claim that they believe the ceasefire at sea and in the energy sector is working. This is what I say: today, the energy sector in Herson was damaged by Russian artillery. This is how it “works”.
The city of Herson is a civilian city, not a battlefield, and civilians have been cut off from electricity. I believe there should be a reaction from the United States.
From our side, we will send evidence, recordings, everything we have. We have these things. The Minister of Defense received orders from me. The evidence will be prepared and handed over to the United States of America. And then, we expect a reaction from the United States of America,” said the Ukrainian president.
