Ursula von der Leyen and Antonio Costa are set to visit Ukraine in February. The officials will commemorate the victims of the four-year war, initiated by Russia in February 2022.

The visit of the head of the European Commission to Kiev was confirmed by spokesperson Paula Pinho. The exact date of the visit was not specified.

“This will be a new proof of the European Union’s solidarity with Ukraine and our determination and unity in the face of ongoing aggression from Russia”, said Paula Pinho.

The details and agenda are being set. The European Commission is to subsequently publish information about the visit and the meetings planned by Ursula von der Leyen.
