Out of the approximately 170,000 channels existing in the national messaging app Max, about 70% — that is, 118,200 — were created by state structures, according to the publication “Agenstvo”. The majority, 116,600 pages, use the suffix _gos in their names, assigned to public institutions through the “Platform for Partners”, according to the instructions of the Russian Ministry of Digital Development. At least another 1,000 state-owned blogs do not use this suffix.
Through the same platform, initially intended for the business environment, 22,200 channels with the suffix _biz were registered. Of these, over 500 also belong to state structures. Approximately 80 other blogs are managed by the “United Russia” party, and 46 — by LDPR.
Out of the 118,000 state channels, at least 70,000 were created by municipal authorities and public institutions. Over 34,000 pages belong to schools, high schools and gymnasiums, about 19,000 — to kindergartens, over 5,000 — to local administrations. Another 2,400 channels are registered by universities and colleges, approximately 1,000 — by medical institutions and about 800 — by libraries.
