A 39-year-old businessman from Germany, the founder of the Donaustahl arms company, claims that there is a conspiracy by the Russian secret services to assassinate him. Stefan Thurmann said he has made his will, decided to donate his organs in case he is killed, and is currently forced to live in hiding and without a personal life, reports Agerpres.
“I am in a duel for my life with the Russian military intelligence service,” declared Stefan Thumann in an interview given to RTL and Stern magazine. The interview took place in a secret location and under strict security conditions.
The entrepreneur says he received the warning from the German authorities shortly before Christmas in 2025, writes Mediafax.
“It was a shock,” he recounted. Since then, his life has completely changed: “Constantly changing residences, 24-hour personal protection, private life has disappeared.”
He made his will at the age of 39.
Thumann stated that the threat was serious enough to prompt him to put his affairs in order, including his documents, in case he was killed.
“I made my will, an organ donation declaration, and an advance directive. Things that, normally, at my age, you don’t really consider,” said the director of Donaustahl.
He says he sleeps next to the computer and starts working as soon as he wakes up, in order to have as little time as possible to think about the situation he is in. The war triggered by Russia against Ukraine has become, in his words, “my very personal war.”
Donaustahl is a Bavarian company founded by Thumann in 2020, which strongly pivoted towards military technology following the onset of the war in Ukraine. The company develops, among other things, drone systems and technologies intended for military use, with Thumann being the CEO and chief designer of the company.
The company provides Ukraine with combat drones, and Thumann says he was aware that his involvement could attract Moscow’s attention. “I knew I would end up in the Russians’ sights,” he stated.
