A correspondent from the Transnistrian region is involved in the case of contract killings of officials and public figures in Ukraine – journalists, activists, and military personnel, including fighters of the international legion. The authorities in Moldova and Ukraine have dismantled the criminal activity.
The group was formed by a former prisoner, recruited by special services while he was in a prison in Russia. After his release, he was sent to Moldova and found individuals to involve in the criminal activity. Most had experience in the military field.
The agents were divided into two groups – some were tracking the victims, while others were executing them. For these services, Russia paid them up to 100,000 US dollars.
Russian agents arrived in Ukraine as tourists, stayed in rented properties, and constantly communicated with another member of the group – a resident of the neighboring country. Money for current expenses was received in cryptocurrencies or through bank cards opened abroad.
