American President Donald Trump described the CIA director’s visit to Moscow as “semi-routine”. The White House leader mentioned, in the context of the discussion with the press on the subject, that he wishes for the war in Ukraine to end.
When asked about the rumors regarding the purpose of the visit, the US leader said that there was no discussion about Iran and potential Russian threats to NATO, reports Agerpres.
“He was not there for any of the things you mention. We would like the war in Ukraine to stop. Something might come out of it,” Trump commented on the CIA chief’s visit to Moscow.
John Ratcliffe traveled to Moscow on Wednesday. The Kremlin spokesperson claims that it was about discussions between intelligence services, and there were no meetings with Vladimir Putin.
On the other hand, journalists accredited to the Kremlin claim that, unexpectedly, Putin would have cancelled a major event, prepared for a long time, with only a few days left before the visit of the CIA chief.
