Donald Trump and Vladimir Zelenski are set to meet on Tuesday in Washington. The Ukrainian leader might travel to the United States of America.
The official’s team is awaiting confirmation of Trump’s schedule from the White House, writes news.ro. Several officials have already discussed the proposal of a possible air armistice, which is to be presented to Russian officials as part of a new round of peace negotiations.
In the past, Ukraine approached the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, with ceasefire offers, which were, however, rejected. Nevertheless, some officials believe that the pressure on the Russian economy exerted by the continuous Ukrainian drone and missile attacks could potentially soften the stance of the Kremlin leader.
On Wednesday, Zelenski discussed with American envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner about the prospects of resuming peace negotiations with Russia and stated that a high-level meeting could follow.
