Ukraine would have used for the first time against targets on Russian territory, Ruta Block 1 cruise missiles, developed by the Dutch company Destinus, founded by entrepreneur Mihail Kokorici, the creator of the first private space company in Russia. The information is based on images published by Russian military bloggers and analyzed by the American publication The War Zone, but their authenticity has not been independently confirmed.

Rocket debris published by Russian military bloggers

Several pro-Russian channels on social networks have distributed photos of what would represent fragments of a Ruta Block 1 rocket. According to The War Zone, the images capture elements of the fuselage, internal components, and a part of the tail assembly, which correspond to the known design of this type of weapon.

The American publication, however, specifies that it cannot rule out the possibility that the debris may belong to another cruise missile developed by Ukraine, with similar characteristics.

In parallel, a video clip was also distributed on the internet that would capture the flight of such a missile towards a target in Russia, however, its authenticity has not been verified.

Russian military bloggers claim that the missile was intercepted by Russian anti-aircraft defense systems, information that has not been officially confirmed.

The missiles would have been delivered to Ukraine as part of the Dutch military aid.

According to The War Zone, the Ruta Block 1 missiles are manufactured in the Netherlands and have been delivered to Ukraine at least since 2024.

The publication recalls that last month, the former Ukrainian Defense Minister, Mihail Fedorov, announced that the Netherlands would finance the delivery of approximately 700 cruise missiles to Ukraine, as part of a military aid package estimated at over 500 million dollars. American journalists estimate that it is very likely that these deliveries were targeting the Ruta Block 1 model.

    Rocket designed for mass production

According to the data provided by the manufacturer, Ruta Block 1 has a range of over 300 kilometers and can carry a payload of approximately 150 kilograms.

The rocket is launched from the ground with the aid of an accelerator, after which it flies at low altitude. The guidance system combines inertial navigation, satellite navigation, and visual terrain recognition, which allows it to maintain its accuracy even under conditions of GPS signal jamming.

Unlike some high-cost Western rockets, Route Block 1 was designed as a more affordable system, intended for mass production. The Destinus company uses its own turbojet engine, thus reducing dependence on external suppliers.
