The Russian Federation has sensed the weakness of the transatlantic relationship and stands like a predator at the turn, ready to “bite”, says political scientist Radu Carp. There are signs of a general mobilization in the major cities of Russia.
Political scientist Radu Carp raises an alarm: “In the Russian Federation, signs of a disguised general mobilization are multiplying. All information converges in the same direction: in major cities, such as Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ekaterinburg, Kazan, checks are being carried out against “illegal migration” – in fact, to identify those who have not fulfilled their military service.”
All information converges in the same direction: The Kremlin is preparing something of a large scale.
The professor warns that Russia has achieved a result “like it has never had since 1991”: the creation of a very deep divergence between the USA and Europe and the alignment of the current administration in Washington on an orbit where the partisans of a partnership at the level of Great Powers are found.”
This discourse of the great powers, “seductive” for the followers of a “pragmatic, realistic, business-only” approach, provides Russia with maneuvering space and encourages risky calculations.
“There is no form of aggression that the Russian Federation is not currently practicing”
“What is Russia actually aiming for?”, the professor asks.
According to Carp, in Ukraine, Russia is pursuing a maximal goal: “pure and simple capitulation”. Regarding Europe, the objective is not yet explicit, but can be deduced from the nature of the war that the Kremlin is currently waging.
The professor describes, on Facebook, a lethal combination: “A maneuvering war, through advances in different regions in Ukraine”; “a war of attrition, as we saw in Pokrovsk”; “a continuous escalation, through attacks on energy infrastructure, transport routes, food and pharmaceutical warehouses”; “hybrid warfare and sabotage operations in all European states, without exception”.
He concludes unequivocally: “There is no form of aggression that the Russian Federation is not currently practicing.”
