A Romanian woman was arrested in Germany for spying in favor of Russia. In the same case, a Ukrainian was also arrested in Spain, according to AFP and EFE agencies, quoted by Agerpres.
“Starting from December 2025, (the Ukrainian n.red) Serghei N., acting for a Russian intelligence service, spied in Germany on a person who supplies drones and spare parts to Ukraine,” the German Prosecutor’s Office indicated in a statement.
The Ukrainian citizen is said to have collected information about the person he spied on from the internet and made videos at this person’s workplace.
Subsequently, the Ukrainian left Germany and settled in the city of Elda, in the Alicante region of Spain, where he was arrested on Tuesday by Spanish police, based on a European arrest warrant issued on February 17, 2026, the German Prosecutor’s Office further specifies.
The Romanian woman took over the spying mission from the Ukrainian citizen
According to the same source, a Romanian woman, introduced as “Alla S.”, took over the spying mission of “Serghei N.” in Germany “at the latest in March 2026”.
“She went to the address of the person (spied on n.red) and recorded the location with her mobile phone. It is assumed that these spying activities were intended to prepare new operations of the intelligence services against the target person,” the German Prosecutor’s Office further claims.
