At the beginning of 2026, the border service of the Federal Security Service (FSB) had on record 8.9 million decisions on temporary travel bans, 41.5% more than the previous year. The information was published by RBC, referring to the data of the Federal Service of Judicial Executors.
According to the legislation, the travel ban applies in cases of debts of over approximately 100 euros (10,000 rubles) — for obligations such as alimony, compensation for injuries or moral damages — and from about 300 euros (30,000 rubles) for other types of debts. The measure is applied as part of enforcement procedures, along with account blocking and property seizure.
In total, in 2025, the executors issued 9.2 million travel ban decisions, 20% less than the previous year. The decrease is explained, among other things, by legislative changes: since the end of 2023, these restrictions have become indefinite, being lifted only after the full payment of the debt or the conclusion of the procedure.
