Several Russian celebrities have been sanctioned by the Republic of Moldova. Chisinau has aligned with the restrictive measures imposed by the European Union.

These include the news presenter from the Russian federal channel Pervîi Kanal, Ekaterina Andreeva, and sports journalist Dmtiri Guberneev, who has ties with the Russian government.

Among those facing restrictions are also the moderator of “Direct Line” with Vladimir Putin – Pavel Zarubin. Furthermore, TV presenter Maria Sittel, who works at the “Rossiya” channel, has also been sanctioned.

Another Russian celebrity sanctioned by Moldova is ballet artist Sergei Polunin, accused of propaganda and promoting war, according to realitatea.md. Additionally, rapper Roma Jigan has been added to the sanctions list, as he glorifies Putin and war.

The order to align with the European Union’s restrictions was signed by Chisinau’s head of diplomacy, Mihai Popșoi. The decision was published in the Official Monitor on March 17, 2026.
