Hundreds of children were evacuated Wednesday morning from schools in the separatist Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova. Messages about alleged mine threats were received at educational institutions in Tiraspol, Tighina, and Slobozia.

The information was communicated by parents and social media users. According to the Security Zone publication, it would be about all the schools in the Slobozia locality, schools no. 2, no. 8, no. 10, no. 12, no. 16, and no. 18 from Tiraspol, schools no. 2, no. 15, no. 18 from Tighina, and the Theoretical High School “L. S. Berg”.

Messages about supposed bombs were sent anonymously. Lessons were interrupted, and students from some institutions were sent home.

The alleged authorities in the Transnistrian region announced that all the received messages turned out to be false. No explosives were found in the educational institutions.

This is not the first incident of this kind, which occurs on the territory of the Republic of Moldova after the beginning of the war in Ukraine, both in the constitutionally controlled area and on the left bank of the Dniester. In addition to schools, other institutions are targeted, including hospitals, courts, shopping centers, Chisinau Airport, etc. One of the versions previously announced by the authorities was that hybrid forces are testing the reaction capacity of those responsible.
