The pro-Kremlin bot network “Matryoshka” has launched a massive disinformation campaign against the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan. The action takes place ahead of the parliamentary elections on June 7, 2026, report the publications “Vot Tak” and “Agentstvo”.
According to the “Bot Blocker” project, by the beginning of May, the network had published 343 fake videos about Armenia and Pashinyan. This is the second largest documented disinformation campaign of the “Matryoshka” network, surpassed only by the one carried out before the elections in Moldova, when 409 videos were published.
For comparison, before the US elections, 180 videos were produced, in Germany 97, and in Poland 14, according to newsmaker.md.
Experts note that this campaign began 243 days before the elections, the earliest start of such operations recorded to date. In the case of Moldova, the campaign began 168 days before the vote, and in the USA, 113 days.
Disinformation is disseminated in waves, the latest peak being recorded before the summit of the European Political Community in Yerevan on May 4th.
