The presence of drones near Dublin during the recent visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is part of a “coordinated threat,” said Irish Justice Minister Jim O’Callaghan on Monday, who did not want to speculate about who was behind the incident, reports DPA, according to Agerpres.
The Irish police are investigating the presence of drones in Irish airspace during Zelensky’s brief visit to Dublin, which took place last week.
The National Security Council is set to present a “comprehensive report” to Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin next week.
Volodymyr Zelensky and his wife, Olena Zelenska, arrived late Monday night in Dublin. The next day, Tuesday, the Ukrainian president met with President Catherine Connolly and Prime Minister Micheal Martin, after which he gave a speech in the Dublin parliament, where he said that Ireland “understands the price of freedom.”
