Russia’s main ally seems to be preparing for war. We’re talking about Belarus. The information was conveyed by the leader from Minsk, Alexander Lukashenko, who did not rule out the possibility of announcing a mobilization.
The announcement was made during a meeting with Belarusian military leaders. The official said that the army must be prepared for any scenario, including one in which the country is involved in an armed conflict.
“Belarus is preparing for war, to avoid such a scenario. The army needs to be revitalized, the time has come. The entire army. We will check everyone. Even up to mobilization,” Lukashenko said.
The verification will cover the entire defense system of the country, Alexander Lukashenko also conveyed.
Belarus and Russia have a strategic alliance. The two countries signed a treaty for the creation of a State Union in 1999, reports Mediafax. Due to Western sanctions, Belarus has become dependent on the financial, political, and military support provided by Vladimir Putin.
The two countries deepened their ties after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, after Belarus allowed Russia to use its territory for attacks and the deployment of military equipment.
Russia would have also deployed tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, according to information officially announced by Minsk and Moscow.
