A cyber attack claimed by pro-Russian hackers targeted several Danish government websites on Thursday, as well as a platform of a defense industry company, announced the Danish Civil Security Agency.

According to the agency, “several Danish companies and websites are currently facing outages and operational disruptions due to DDoS attacks“. The statement specifies that the authorities are closely monitoring “the situation”, working closely with military intelligence services, reports AFP, according to Agerpres.

The pro-Russian hacker group NoName057 announced on social media that it targeted websites of some Danish institutions, including the Ministry of Transport and the borger.dk platform dedicated to administrative procedures, as well as the website of the defense company Terma, which confirmed the disruptions.

    Terma’s Reaction

Terma’s communication director, Tobias Brun-Falkencrone, told AFP: “We know that a group of Russian hackers has claimed to disrupt our website, as well as those of several Danish authorities, but it is too early to say that they are responsible. We are well prepared to handle this type of cyber attack and we reacted quickly. There was no security breach and no data were lost”.
