Democratic governors have mobilized against Donald Trump, promising concrete measures to lower the cost of living and aiming for victory in the 2026 elections, which could pave the way for the 2028 presidential elections.

“I believe we had big victories this year because we recognize that people are not as political as some think”, said Andy Beshear, the governor of Kentucky, the new president of the Democratic Governors Association, quoted by ABC News.

He emphasized that the Democratic Party can reclaim states like Georgia and Nevada, but also “places like Iowa, where you wouldn’t expect”.
