The Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, is in Moscow on April 27, announced the Iranian Embassy in Russia. During his visit, the official will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The information has been confirmed, including by the Kremlin’s spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov. The discussions will focus on the war in the Middle East, including the progress of negotiations with the United States, ceasefire, and other “developments related to the conflict,” the Iranian Embassy informed.

Russia positions itself as a strategic partner of Iran, although, since the beginning of the war, it has avoided direct public support for Tehran, notes Meduza. Western intelligence services claim that Russia has reached an agreement with Iran to provide drones and has offered data for attacks on American targets in the region.

Although a ceasefire has been reached in the war, US relations with Iran remain tense, against the backdrop of the constant blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and mutual accusations in this regard.
