American President Donald Trump, who is trying to shift the blame onto others for the rise in gasoline prices, stated on Monday that this is not caused by the war he launched against Iran, but rather by Ukrainian attacks against Russia, reports AFP.

“What leads to the increase in gasoline prices is no longer the Strait of Hormuz, as a record number of barrels pass through it almost every day, but the word “refineries”, as Russia’s are being bombed by Ukraine, and ours are being shut down in states like California by those imbecile Democrats,” wrote the US president on his social network, Truth.

The rise in gasoline and diesel prices is a major source of dissatisfaction for American voters, who will be called to the polls on November 3 for the mid-term elections. Current polls predict that the Republican Party, which controls both chambers of Congress, will lose at least one of them, the House of Representatives, notes AFP, quoted by Agerpres.

This is not the first time Donald Trump has pointed a finger at Ukrainian attacks on Russian refineries. However, the American president has not yet commented on the increase in Russian bombings on Ukrainian territory, and especially on the capital, Kiev.
