American billionaire Elon Musk openly expressed his support for Marine Le Pen on Wednesday. The politician is a possible candidate for the National Rally (RN) party in the 2027 presidential elections.
Following the message published on social networks, the government of President Emmanuel Macron accused the businessman of interference in France’s domestic politics.
“She is the last hope of France,” Elon Musk wrote on his social network X, reports g4media.ro. He also shared a message mentioning that “the poll numbers for Marine Le Pen have taken off”.
On the same social network, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot asked the American billionaire to retract his words.
“As we say in French: Only imbeciles do not change their minds,” conveyed the head of French diplomacy.
Elon Musk has previously expressed his support for Marine Le Pen, especially during the process involving the politician.
