The seventh meeting of the European Political Community, attended by leaders from across the European continent, convenes in Copenhagen today, October 2nd.

The topics discussed include ways to strengthen Ukraine, the overall security situation in Europe, and ways in which Europe can become stronger and safer in the current geopolitical situation, reports the website https://www.consilium.europa.eu/.

The European Union will be represented by the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, who will co-chair the meeting with the Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen.

The plenary session will be followed by several round tables focused on different aspects of the security situation in Europe, including: traditional and hybrid threats, economic security or migration, writes Agerpres.

As always, 47 heads of state and government from the 27 EU member states, as well as from non-EU countries: Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Iceland, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, Republic of Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, San Marino, Serbia, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, were invited to participate in the meeting.

The next meetings of the European Political Community will take place in Armenia and Ireland.

So far, the European Political Community has met six times in the Czech Republic, the Republic of Moldova, Spain, the United Kingdom, Hungary, and Albania.

The first meeting of the European Political Community, which brought together leaders from across the continent, took place on October 6, 2022, in Prague.
