At least three people died on the evening of August 1, and another 21 were injured after a woman detonated an improvised explosive device near a restaurant in Moscow. A party was being held there to celebrate the anniversary of General Aleksandr Ceaiko. Among the guests were several high-ranking politicians and military officers

The official, who is the head of the aerospace forces, had a narrow escape. The Russian investigation committee has launched an investigation into acts of terrorism, reports Moldova 1.

The National Anti-Terrorist Committee of Russia reported that a woman allegedly tried to enter a restaurant, but was stopped by a security officer. As a result, she supposedly detonated the bomb.

Witnesses reported seeing several people covered in blood, taken out from inside the restaurant. The nearby streets were closed, and several events scheduled in the area – cancelled.

This is the fifth attack on a high-ranking Russian military officer since the beginning of the war in Ukraine.
