The German Minister of Education, Karin Prien, has harshly criticized American President Donald Trump following his call for a change of the Ukrainian president and after concluding a deal for the acquisition of Russian diesel, reports the German agency DPA on Sunday, as relayed by Agerpres.
“For a few liters of diesel. What a moral bankruptcy“, wrote Prien on the X platform, commenting on an article from the German press about Trump’s statements.
In a statement given to the press on Saturday, Trump urged Ukraine to find another president, reproaching Zelenski for both the continuation of strikes on Russian refineries and the lack of willingness to conclude a peace agreement with Russia, an agreement that the American president claimed is desired by Putin.
Zelenski “wants to cause problems for our farmers, cattle breeders, with diesel fuel, as Russia supplies a large part of the world’s diesel fuel,” argued the leader from the White House, warning the Ukrainian president that he “has an interest in stopping” the attacks on Russian refineries.
“I believe it’s time for Ukraine to have a new president,” Trump concluded, adding that Zelensky has disrupted the global diesel supply with these attacks.
Since the USA and Israel launched the war against Iran in February, fuel prices have risen in the USA, much to the dissatisfaction of American citizens, who could “retaliate” at the polls against Trump’s Republicans in the midterm elections on November 3.
