The body of Vladislav Baumgertner, the former CEO of the company “Uralkali”, who went missing at the beginning of January, has been found in Cyprus. The information was confirmed on January 14 by sources from the “Fontanka” publication, as well as by the Cypriot press.

According to the publication Philenews, the body was discovered in a hard-to-reach coastal area, located on the southern shore of the island — between the town of Pissouri and the village of Avdimou, in the region where the businessman’s search was taking place. The body was found in a ravine, on a rocky portion of the coastline. The authorities are waiting for official confirmation of the deceased’s identity — due to the condition of the body, it may be necessary to conduct a DNA examination or identification based on dental records.

The search operation lasted several days and was conducted with the participation of local police, as well as personnel from British military bases in Cyprus. Drones were used to check hard-to-reach areas. As Philenews notes, the search was complicated by winter weather conditions and strong winds.
